Staying at Disney’s Art of Animation as an adult costs $265

I love the “Cars” area of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Couples can easily spend $4,000 (or more) on a week-long trip to Disney World, but my husband and I found a few ways to save money.

Although we don’t have kids, we usually stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It’s popular with families because of its kid-friendly Disney movie theme. But adults shouldn’t overlook the budget hotel.

Here’s what our last stay was like and why Art of Animation is one of the best places for adults to stay at Disney World.

Prices are budget (for Disney).

The Art of Animation is one of Disney’s “value” resorts.
Stacey Brooks

Art of Animation is categorized as a Value Resort, meaning it is one of the most economical options for staying at a Disney World property.

Our standard room is only $265 per night. But we still have similar advantages early entry into the parks and free transportation throughout Disney World.

We felt like we were at Disney World from the moment we checked in.

There are fun drawings all over the lobby.

The Art of Animation lobby is decorated floor to ceiling with sketches from some of Disney’s most famous films. favorite cartoons. Guests can spot characters like Simba, Lightning McQueen, Ursula and Nemo.

The theme of Disney animation is spread throughout the grounds, with different parts of the resort being dedicated “Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King”, “Finding Nemo” and “Cars”.

The Little Mermaid rooms are colorful and whimsical.

We have a Little Mermaid themed room.

We received a text message with our room number when our standard room in the Little Mermaid section of the resort was ready.

The room had two large beds, a small table with two chairs and a chest of drawers.

I loved the underwater decor inspired by the cartoon, like chalkboards shaped like seashells, a fish-framed mirror, and wall paintings of Flounder and Sebastian. There were even pieces of sheet music for Under the Sea laminated on the table.

I also appreciated the finer touches, like the teal floor that transitioned into beach tile in the bathroom area.

Our room also had many practical features.

My husband and I had plenty of room in our hotel room.

The room was cute, but it was also designed for comfortable stay.

My husband appreciated the curtain over the sink which kept the toilet from bothering him while I was getting ready for bed. We also liked the multiple USB charging ports and outlets on the nightstand and dresser.

Although the rooms at the budget resorts are on the smaller side, we didn’t feel cramped.

There was a wardrobe with a rack, shelves and hangers, and in the dresser we had three large drawers to store our clothes. There was even a rack with octopus-shaped pegs to hang our jackets.

The Big Blue Pool isn’t just fun for kids.

The pool has a great bar with fun drinks.
Stacey Brooks

Big Blue Pool, inspired by Art of Animation’s Finding Nemo, is the largest resort pool at Disney World.

It houses larger-than-life coral reef statues and a kid-friendly splash pad. But there’s also plenty of room for adults to lounge with a drink from the Drop Off pool bar.

The bar serves cocktails, spirits and light snacks along with non-alcoholic smoothies and sodas.

Exploring the resort feels like stepping into a Disney movie.

In the Little Mermaid section, there is a massive statue of Ariel.
Stacey Brooks

Every time I left my room, it was like mine favorite Disney movies came to life

There were massive statues of Ariel and Ursula from The Little Mermaid right outside my room. In another section, I can check out Pride Rock or get a photo with Timon and Pumbaa from “Lion King.”

In addition to The Big Blue Pool with Nemo, Crush and Mr. Ray, Finding Nemo part of the resort has giant seagulls singing “Mine!”

The “Cars” area is especially great.

Fillmore is one of my favorite Cars characters.
Stacey Brooks

The attention to detail in “Cars” part of the resort is next level.

Most of Radiator Springs has been recreated, including the Cozy Cone Motel, the Wheel Well Motel, and Luigi’s Casa Della Tierra. There are huge statues of all the characters from the movie and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get pictures with my favorites (Fillmore and Doc Hudson).

Even if your room isn’t near the Car Zone, get there after dark to see the Cozy Cone Motel sign in all its neon glory.

Art of Animation is connected to Hollywood Studios and Epcot via the Skyliner gondolas.

Skyliner goes to Hollywood Studios and Epcot at Disney World.
Stacey Brooks

Disney buses are fine, but my favorite free shuttle on property is the Skyliner.

Unlike buses, gondolas run continuously, so there’s never a long wait—even at the beginning and end of the day, lines move quickly.

It took us about 10 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios and about 20 minutes to get to Epcot via Skyliner. If you plan your trip right, you can even watch the Epcot fireworks from the gondolas.

I will not stay anywhere else in Disney World.

I love staying at Art of Animation at Disney World.
Stacey Brooks

I have stayed at several Disney World resorts and I can confidently say that Art of Animation is the best.

Its budget-friendly prices and captivating theming make my time at Disney World extra magical.
