Akuma has a secret Super Arts Easter egg and abilities in Street Fighter 6, and here’s how to unlock them

You’ll probably never pull them off in a real match

Akuma first appeared as a hidden boss fight back in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and it looks like he’s still carrying new secrets some 30 years later.

With the release of the demon alongside the new Season 2 balance update, it was quickly discovered that Akuma has some hidden super arts and abilities in Street Fighter 6.

Initially, some players discovered that the new DLC character’s back taunt contained a special boost that took a while to complete.

From our testing, you need to hold and continue pressing all three punch and kick buttons (our mock input only) once the animation starts. You don’t need to mash super hard, as we found that pressing the buttons every 30-40 frames or so seemed to do the trick consistently.

After ten seconds have passed, Akuma will indeed pull out a rice ball and start eating with his back turned. At this point you can stop pressing the buttons.

The hungry demon will continue to enjoy his mid-battle snack with each bite giving him more super meter. First a half bar, then another, followed by a full bar, and it will max out at level 3 if the entire animation is played.

On the last bite, Akuma’s eyes will light up and show a purple aura emanating from him as he says “I’m full”.

This is how the real secret is unlocked.

Akuma gains not one, but two hidden Super Arts after the animation is complete, both costing two bars.

The first of which is his Kongou Kokuretsuzan ground strike from Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, which is also similar to his Street Fighter 5 Critical Art, Sekia Kuretsuha.

This move is performed by pressing down, down, and three punches, and it looks like he calls the Super “Adamant Cleaver” in the English dub.

His second secret Super is Misogi, which first appeared with Shin Akuma in Capcom vs. SNK 2.

The overhead teleport, which is also like Kage’s V-Trigger 2 in SF5, can be done with a double quarter circle back and kick.

With his Air Level 1 and Shun Goku Satsu, this technically gives the demon a whopping 7 different Super Arts in SF6.

He doesn’t just get different Supers though.

While in this activated state, Akuma also gains access to his dual aerial fireball by pressing a quarter circle back and two punches while jumping forward.

These changes seem to stay in effect for at least the entire round, if not the entire match, but you probably never will, given that the entire taunt animation takes about 30 seconds to complete.

It may also seem a little random, but this Easter egg basically transforms the fighter into his SiRN Akuma boss battle form, which players can now fight against in the Giant Attack event currently taking place in the Battle Hub.

So it looks like the developers wanted to give players a cheeky way to play as the enhanced/altered fighter, much like Shin Akuma in the past.

We just wonder if they expected it to be discovered so quickly.

There may still be more secrets and changes made to this playable SiRN Akuma, though more experimentation will have to be done.

It’s very fun to see that the development team still won’t shy away from hiding things in their fighting game for players to uncover.
