Today, The LEGO Group unveils LEGO® The Legend of Zelda™ Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 Set, an epic tribute to an iconic Nintendo character The Legend of Zelda™series. The intricately designed 2-in-1 LEGO set is a brick-built recreation of the character that can be built either as the Big Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time or from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
This 2,500-piece set encapsulates the essence of adventure and nostalgia while incorporating precise details. Fans can compile a selection of their favorite moments The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time or from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild games by building and exploring the depths of the Great Deku Tree. In addition to the Great Deku Tree, the set features iconic scenery from the video games, including the Master Sword pedestal from breath of the wild as well as the House of Link from Ocarina of Time, allowing enthusiasts the freedom to customize their display. The structure is elegantly mounted on stands, providing a hassle-free display of the set.
It should be noted that both versions offer interactive features. IN Breath of the wild show, the Great Deku Tree’s face can be animated with a simple push of a lever while Ocarina of Time The Great Deku Tree version features a fascinating mechanism: when activated, its mouth opens to reveal a cleverly designed Skulltula (a spider-like enemy from the games) descending into its depths.
IN Breath of the wild version, enthusiasts will marvel at the Great Deku Tree adorned with vibrant pink blossoms, accompanied by the iconic Master Sword pedestal. It should be noted that this rendering boasts one attractive feature: the ability to animate the tree’s expressive eyebrows and mouth, adding depth to the build.
Meanwhile in Ocarina of Time version, builders will encounter lush green foliage adorned with a Large Deku Tree. This version includes Link’s House, an essential element associated with Ocarina of Time narrative, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and authenticity to the set. It’s worth mentioning that regardless of which version you choose to build, you’ll have the option to build both the Master Sword Pedestal and Link’s House as smaller models.
The set includes four LEGO minifigures that feature iconic characters from the series. IN Breath of the wild version, Princess Zelda and Link are dressed in their recognizable blue attire. As for Ocarina of Time show, you’ll find both Young Link and Link. The set also includes buildable characters and creatures such as Hestu the Korok (complete with his maracas), several smaller Koroks, Deku Babas, Navi the Fairy, Deku Sprout and Skulltula.
Speaking of launching the kit, Eiji Aonuma, The Legend of Zelda series producer at Nintendo Co., Ltd revealed: “I’m really excited that The Legend of Zelda is joining the world of LEGO bricks that stimulate the creative impulses of so many people of all ages.
The Deku Tree was the first element of The Legend of Zelda that we wanted to represent using LEGO bricks. This set allows you to build two different versions of the Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with unique features that fit the nature of the series perfectly. I can’t wait for everyone to get the chance to build this part of The Legend of Zelda world with their own hands.”
