Apple’s Weather app has issues

The Apple Weather app appears to be experiencing an outage, with some users seeing it fail to load or take 30 seconds or more to update to current conditions.

There have been reports of the Weather app on social media, and we’ve also confirmed that it’s not fully functional for some users, but Apple’s System Status page has yet to report an outage.

We’ll update this post when the weather app starts functioning normally.

Update: The iOS weather app seems to be working again, but the macOS version is still not working.

Update 2: Apple’s system status page now reports a weather outage limited to precipitation over the next hour in Alaska, but the weather problem appears to be much larger than that.

Update 3: Apple updated the System Status page again to confirm an outage that began at 2:10 PM ET. Apple says the Weather app may be slow or unavailable.

Update 4: Apple has removed Weather from the System Status page, but the Mac app still doesn’t work and the iOS Weather app loads slowly.
