Helldivers 2 is one of the best and most popular games of the year so far. However, with this popularity comes the constant demand for new content. This new content usually comes in the form of monthly premium Warbonds. Arrowhead confirmed big changes for future Warbonds in Helldivers 2and players have mixed feelings about the announcement.

Arrowhead has confirmed that the next Helldivers 2 patch update will be out very soon. While it won’t be the “mother of all patches”, it’s something you should be excited about as it will bring balance changes to some controversial weapons. In addition to this patch, we should expect the arrival of the Illuminati, and their appearance seems imminent thanks to a portal in the form of a “black hole”.

The upcoming new patch and the impending arrival of Illuminate are exciting, but we also have a new Premium Warbond just over the horizon. When this Warbond comes out be sure to treasure it as the release will be delayed.

  • The scar of the purple tooth (nose)
  • Hangman’s Shed (Prow)
  • Belief Test (emotion)
  • Welcome Worship (Emotion)
  • Guns Of Liberty (Emote)Viper Commando (Player Title)

In addition to revealing this new Warbond, Arrowhead announced on the helldivers2 Twitter account that it is changing the release schedule for future Warbonds. The official announcement reads: “we’re slowing down the pace at which we release Warbonds to allow a little more time to polish them.”

Along with the slower-paced release, Arrowhead said on the PlayStation Blog that they’re “changing the arrangement of items in each Warbond to make room for new item types, as well as higher quality armor and weapons.” This decision was made to “prevent us from simply adding more of everything, which could result in weapons that feel redundant and uninteresting armor. It is time to focus on quality over quantity”.

No new release schedule has been announced, but it should be shared soon in the future. Warbonds have been released once a month since launch, so maybe we could see a release every two months. However, these are purely guesswork at the time of writing.

In response to the news that Warbonds will be released less frequently from now on, fans on Reddit shared their mixed feelings about the announcement. One user said: “I’m fine with taking the time to polish them, but with the limited max levels of samples, coins, etc, you get to a point where there’s no gain other than giving the universe more democracy.”

Another user commented: “There is only 1 primary and 1 secondary in the battle link. I’m slow if they can’t maintain it, but then surely they don’t need to reduce the content either. Watch them all still be 1000 SC, even though they have a lot less meaningful content in them.

Many users echoed the above sentiment with comments such as: “If there is less content in them, they should reduce the amount of supercredits needed to get them. However, I doubt that will happen.” Another user said: “I want military links first for new weapons, then armors. So if this Viper is easy for them because they had to get it out this month, that’s fine. But if the future ones also don’t have weapons and are mostly skins, I’ll start skipping them”.

While there are many comments unhappy with the announced changes, there are also comments in favor of Arrowhead’s decision because “one [warbond] per month was an insane strategy from the start. It’s like you’ll run out of content too soon.”

It will be interesting to see the planned new release schedule and if the Premium Warbonds stay the same price. A Warbond every two months might be ideal, but it’s possible they could be stretched to one every three months.
