New Galaxy Z Fold 6 leak brings bad news on US pricing, good news on weight

If you’ve already found the Galaxy Z Fold 6 pretty underwhelming based on all the recent rumors and leaks about screen sizes, camera capabilities, battery capacity, and AI functionality, the latest US pricing information may disappoint you even more more.

That’s right, we’re afraid that rumor from a few weeks ago, which we refused to believe at the time, is gaining traction today, and the industry insider confirming the higher prices of the Z Fold 6 than its predecessor is almost they are never wrong about this type of thing.

These are (probably) the main variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and their US price tags

  • 256GB storage configuration – $1,899.99;
  • 512GB – $2,019.99;
  • 1TB – $2,259.99.
If Steve Hemmerstoffer’s fresh information (published exclusively on Smartprix) turns out to be accurate (which it seems a lot possible), the Z Fold 6 will be $100 more expensive than its predecessor everywhere, at least in the US. It’s something potential buyers may not find very easy given how few tangible upgrades there are Galaxy Z Fold 6 expected to bring to the table compared to Z fold 5.
Note that the storage options are the same, and while there’s no mention of it in this hot new report, we don’t think Samsung is cooking up any upgrades in the memory department either. That means the Korea-based tech giant expects its US-based fans to cough up more than $2,000 for a book-style foldable with 512 gigabytes of internal storage, 12 GB of RAM, state-of-the-art Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and almost every other specification and feature “borrowed” from last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Just like on Pixel Fold (and Z Fold 5), on Galaxy Z Fold 6 of course, it’s almost guaranteed to receive significant discounts fairly soon after its commercial debut, and if history is any indication, some pretty amazing deals to boot. But that doesn’t change the fact that Z fold 5Already sky-high retail prices will rise even for this largely repetitive bad boy and a lot a familiar looking sequel.

Heavier in the wallet, lighter in your hand

For what it’s worth, the more expensive Z Fold 6 today is expected to weigh 239 grams, thus shedding 14 grams from the Z fold 5. This is definitely good news for people who fiddled with last year’s book-style Samsung foldable and felt a bit overwhelmed by it after a while (and not in a good way).

On the other hand, we are no longer very sure that the battery capacity from 4400 mAh will increase to around 4600 mAh as some sources have suggested for the past few months. The aforementioned OnePlus Openin case you’re wondering, it also tips the scales at exactly 239 grams, while packing a 4805 mAh cell, meaning the Samsung could decrease Z fold 5Weight 253 grams and increase the battery size at the same time. Whether this will whether it happens in the end, however, remains an entirely different matter.
In terms of color options, Navy, Silver Shadow, and Pink are once again rumored, confirming (at least in part) a number of previous reports that also mentioned white and “crafted black” as possible online-only hues that will likely be released in a lower volume of the main three tastes.
