Embark on a monumental mission to save the nation of Iria in Sword of Convallaria, a gripping fantasy tactical RPG that’s set to launch on PC and mobile on July 31, 2024, developers XD can reveal today. Sword of Convallaria combines classic Japanese turn-based tactical RPG elements and neo-pixel visuals, seamlessly blending old-school RPG design with modern graphical enhancements.

Build a formidable team of allies with unique abilities to engage in strategic grid-based battles against rival factions. The game’s complex combat system allows you to carefully strategize and unleash devastating attacks to defeat an eclectic range of opponents encountered on your journey. Offering true tactical gameplay, it features grid-based combat across a variety of obstacles and terrain, requiring you to use every detail of the battlefield to your advantage. Variations in terrain such as rocks and boulders create positive and negative effects, enriching your tactical options. You can lure enemies into a row and roll boulders at them, or knock strong enemies into water or off the map for instant kills on the ground.

Sword of Convallaria’s deep storyline, driven by player agency, unfolds based on your decisions, with the narrative changing based on your choices and achievements, shaping Iria’s destiny. The developers promise a rich storyline with 120 hours of single-player gameplay. Recruit and train a roster of unique companions in the tavern, build their equipment in the forge, improve their stats in the training ground, and lead your custom-made band of mercenaries on legendary quests with various factions.

Sword of Convallaria boasts a mesmerizing soundtrack composed by legendary video game music producer Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for his work on beloved titles such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles. In addition, the game features an all-star cast, including Kazuhiko Inoue, Aoi Yūki, and Takuya Eguchi, who bring Iria’s characters to life with their captivating performances.
