Spear Mains Enjoy Like Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.402 Issues Tons of Fixes – IGN

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has followed up last week’s release of the game’s big balance update and premium warbond with a new patch that implements a long list of fixes.

The highlight is a fix for the Spear support strategy, which has suffered all kinds of problems since the PC and PlayStation 5 co-op shooter launched earlier this year. What should be a reliable monster of a weapon has been erratic for so long, with its anti-tank homing missile failing to properly track locked targets.

According to the patch notes for update 1.000.402, there is a fix for Spear not targeting multiple objects (spawners, compound objects, etc.). This should encourage more players to bring the Spear onto the battlefield.

And here’s another useful fix: Hellbombs are now summoned facing the player instead of away from the player. Players are used to Hellbombs facing away from them, so you’ll need to get rid of that.

Arrowhead also updated the list of known issues, outlining what the studio is working on fixing with upcoming patches. Noteworthy: The Bile Titan sometimes doesn’t take damage to the head, and the Charger’s butt doesn’t take damage from explosions. What an ass!

Last week was a big one for Helldivers 2 and Arrowhead, who recently revealed that they’re in the process of setting up the studio so they can “do more and better things” in the long run. in intro post on redditnew CEO Shams Georgiani, who recently replaced Arrowhead’s previous CEO and now-current Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilstedtsaid that the studio had to adjust to the huge success that Helldivers 2 brought to the company.

Helldivers 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, having sold an incredible 12 million copies in just 12 weeks since it went on sale earlier this year. Amid the huge revenue generated by Helldivers 2, Arrowhead itself has suffered a number of crises, including launch server issues and most recently a battle with Sony itself over the console maker’s controversial attempt to force Steam players to link PlayStation accounts Network.

Corrections

Crashes

  • Fixed various crashes that sometimes occurred when changing settings.
  • Fixed potential crash or broken font texture when changing language
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after exiting a mission.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when opening the social menu with more than 100 friends. As a result, we’ve limited friend list visibility to 100. You’ll remain friends with anyone over 100, but you may not be able to see them if they’re offline.
  • Fixed crash when opening social menu and having many blocked players and/or friend requests.
  • Fixed crash when minimizing after changing to full screen mode.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when picking up equipment.
  • Fix crash when client interacts with terminal in wait state after host migration.
  • Fix crash related to minefields.

Various fixes

  • Fixing evasion and slope issues.
  • Fix not being able to stand up when swinging the ballistic shield.
  • Fixed reload speed without recoil.
  • Fixed an issue where users could not write a console description when reporting a player.
  • Fixes the vehicle preview not appearing in Warbonds when scrolling through the catalog.
  • Fix Spear not targeting multiple objects (spawners, complex objects, etc.).
  • Guards have a higher destruction value, so most explosions do not destroy them immediately, regardless of the amount of damage.

  • The Remove Friend and Block Player buttons are now confirmed with a hold instead of a single click.

  • Vehicle skins are now applied to all vehicle variations when equipped directly from Warbonds.
  • Fixes flag targets not properly tracking Helldiver’s position while on Combat Walker.
  • PH-202 Twigsnapper Helmet: fixed missing description.
  • Fixed an issue where the shuttle would go through the bile titans and terrain during the landing sequences.
  • Improved PS5 performance when the CPU is connected
  • Fixed residual FX when destroying Spore Spewer
  • Make sure the stim vfx stays on screen for the duration of the stim effect when a med kit bonus is present.
  • Fix for players receiving emotes being able to use their weapons during an emote animation

already known problems

These are issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous release and have not yet been fixed.

  • Sending friend requests via in-game friend code is currently not working.
  • Players may not be able to join or be invited to the game.
  • Players added to the Recent Players list will appear in the middle of the list.
  • Players may experience a delay in medal and super credit payouts.
  • Available operations are regenerated after reconnecting after AFK kicking.
  • Bleeding enemies do not progress in personal quests and eradication missions.
  • Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes fail to fire.
  • Most guns misfire when aimed down the sight.
  • The Plasma Punisher cannot fire the shield generators.
  • The Stratagem Beam can attach to an enemy, but will deploy at its original location.
  • The “Hand Carts” ship module does not reduce the cooldown of the Shield Generator Pack.
  • Bile Titan sometimes does no damage to the head.
  • Charger stock does not take damage from explosions.
  • Players may remain in Loadout when joining a game in progress.
  • Boost may not be available for players who join a game in progress.
  • Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of each Defend mission.
  • The objective “Raise Flag of Super Earth” does not show a progress bar.
  • The number of missions in the Career tab resets to zero after each restart of the game.
  • Some weapon descriptions are outdated and do not reflect their current design.
