An item that decides the fate of two NPCs!
If you want to complete Fire Knight Queelign or Jolan’s questline while getting some of the best rewards, you need to know the locations, uses, and NPC choices of Elden Ring Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation.
For players who don’t know, Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation are two key items and consumables in Elden Ring that play a vital role in deciding what rewards you get from NPC Jolan and Fire Knight Queelign at the end of their quest.
In this guide, we share the location of the Elden Ring Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation in the Shadow of Erdtree DLC and all NPC choices related to them.
Elden Ring Iris of Grace Locations
In the Elden Ring, you can find Iris of Grace in front of a stone desk in the hallway in the Specimen Storehouse area.
To get there, teleport to the Warehouse, Place of Grace on the first floor and stick to the left side as you go straight.
You will come across an elevator that you need to take to go down to the lower levels of the Specimen Warehouse. After you get off the elevator, follow the path on the right side and keep moving.
At the end of the room, turn left, use the stairs to go down and then turn left again and once more as soon as you enter the infirmary-like area full of Pot experiment enemies.
Just before the experimental creature with giant guts, you’ll find the Iris of Grace.
Also, you can find another one before the Marika statue near the Tree Worship Sanctum Site of Grace.
Elden Ring Iris of Occultation locations
You can obtain the Iris of Occultation by defeating the Lesser Omenkiller at the bottom of the Fort of Reprimand in the Scadu Altus region of the Shadow Realm.
To get there, from the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace keep to the right and follow the main path. You will soon reach the Fort of Reprimand.
Once inside the fort, either defeat the Lesser Omenkiller in the courtyard or take a left and drop down into the hole. Just around the edge is the other horned enemy that you need to defeat to get the Iris of the Occultation.
Another Iris of Occultation is obtained after defeating the Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirit that appears after clearing the water in the churchyard.
Using Elden Ring Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation
Both are consumable items in the Elden Ring that you can consume to get the blessing of an equipped Great Rune, just like the Rune Arc, although we don’t recommend consuming it as it is required in several NPC questlines.
Both items are associated with two NPC questlines: Fire Knight Queelign and Jolan.

- Give Iris of Grace: Drops Fire Knight Queelign Ash Spirit
- Give Iris of Occultation: Drops Greatsword to Queelign
- Jolan
- Give Iris of Grace: Drops Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash
- Give Iris of Occultation: Drops Sword of Night
Which one to choose?
As mentioned earlier, Iris of Grace can be used to obtain Spirit Ash of Fire Knight Queenlign and Jolan. Although the Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash can be transformed into an improved version by introducing Anna, another Sword Hand, the overall effectiveness of Spirt Ash is approx.
Existing Spirit Ash like Black Knife Tiche and Mimic Tear are still some of the best Spirit Ash to use in the game.
On the other hand, if you give Occultation to Jolan and Fire Knight Queelign, you get their weapons, which we think is a much better choice than Spirit Ash.
However, the choice depends on you and your needs. While the choice between Iris of Grace or Iris of Occultation for Fire Knight Queelign is easy, for Jolan, players may be tempted to go with Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash to enter Anna so they can both be together.
