M. Bison’s Psycho Crusher apparently beats more moves than you’d expect in Street Fighter 6

M. Bison and the latest patch are now available in Street Fighter 6. To help him deal with projectiles, a common problem for M. Bison throughout the series, Psycho Crusher and Overdrive Psycho Crusher were demonstrated to counter the zoning options during the character’s gameplay trailer.

However, it turns out that this iconic special move defeats more than just projectiles. It actually beats more moves than you’d expect (under the right circumstances).

Other forward moves such as Lily’s Overdrive Condor Spire (even with Wind Stock), Blanka Ball, and E. Honda’s Sumo Headbutt can be defeated cleanly with Psycho Crusher. This gives M. Bison a particularly impressive ground game against these fighters.

Of course, the fallen dictator apparently has a super simple method to bypass Rashid’s level 2. This is certainly interesting, as the size and range of this projectile is usually enough to completely box out opponents.

It’s not too surprising to see Overdrive Psycho Crusher phase through a projectile, even if it’s a level 2 super art, but it’s strange to see Psycho Crusher even overpower Cammy’s level 3 super art.

Even the act of attacking the move from an awkward angle isn’t a sure bet against M. Bison, as he’s proven to still win these types of exchanges. Although it’s only day one of M. Bison’s release, the character already looks like he’ll fit right in with the rest of the top tiers.

The reason Psycho Crusher can gain an advantage in so many of these situations is because of its invincibility to mid-air attacks, which it has starting at frame 6. This is a trait that other moves in the game also have, such as most Dragon Punches to help them better counter counter attacks.
