Audio-Technica launches new headphones with chest-pounding bass

One complaint I often hear about wireless headphones is that they don’t have enough bass. Some people just love the thump of a bass string and want the earth to move when they listen to their favorite tunes.

The Japanese brand Audio-Technica has taken this criticism on board and developed new true wireless headphones with added effect. The ATH-CKS30TW+ headphones were launched today and are designed to deliver chest-pounding bass that belies their compact design. And just in case external noise gets in the way of your bass line, all of these headphones offer impressive active noise cancellation.

Audio-Technical says these new headphones are the culmination of a 15-year quest for super-deep bass. To reach the depths of mega-bass, the company has added acoustic channels and proprietary 9mm drivers that control airflow. And if the bass is anything to go by, it’s all about moving larger amounts of air to get that powerful bass sound.

With tightly controlled lows, detailed mids and what Audio-Technical describes as “sparkling highs”, these headphones are the perfect gift for anyone who loves music, movies and gaming with maximum impact.

Audio-Technica’s Connect app provides access to an ultra-low-frequency equalizer that extends the bass even further for body-moving beats. Four additional equalizer settings are also available so users can enhance everything from voice clarity to dynamic gaming. The presets are Bass Boost – Beat, Dynamic, Vocal and Clear. Presets can be set as favorites in the app and automatically applied to the headphones each time you listen.

The combination of deep bass and active noise cancellation makes the ATH-CKS30TW+ ideal for full audio engagement by tuning out unwanted sounds from air conditioners to the chaos of city traffic.

Accessible with a single touch of the built-in touch sensor controls, the progressive active noise cancellation feature is complemented by listening and talking features that allow for ambient sounds and natural personal conversations without having to remove the headphones.

A full charge of the headset’s batteries provides up to 6.5 hours of playtime with noise canceling on. With the spare charge stored in the headphone storage case, there is a total of 17.5 hours of listening time. If you want even longer battery life, turn off the noise cancellation and you’ll get up to 7.5 hours of playback time from the headphones or 20 hours with the charging case.

The ATH-CKS30TW+ are available in four colors and have a tight and natural fit that prevents bass frequencies from escaping, as well as physically stopping unwanted external noise from passing through the headphones.

Thanks to the comfortable fit and low weight, the headphones are suitable for hiking and training. IP55 water and dust resistance means sweaty sessions at the gym shouldn’t be a problem. An out-of-range warning and product locator also mean users don’t have to lose their headphones if they forget or lose them.

Prices and Availability: The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS30TW+ wireless headphones will be available from today for $99 / £89 / €99.
