Graphics cards are much more expensive than they used to be. While we no longer have to deal with the insane price hikes that followed COVID, it’s still not uncommon to spend the majority of your DIY PC budget on GPUs. Fortunately, Amazon Prime Day 2024 brings with it a pretty decent assortment of NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon graphics cards at deep discounts. We’ve listed all the deals we’ve found so far, as well as a general breakdown of which GPUs you should consider depending on your monitor resolution and the type of games you play.

XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Black GPU

Amazon currently has the XFX Speedster Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU for just $869.99, making it the cheapest RX 7900 XTX model. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is AMD’s flagship card, and it’s mean enough to challenge higher-end GeForce RTX 40 series cards like the RTX 4080 and 4080 SUPER at a much lower price. This effectively means that this GPU will perform superbly at 1440p and 4K resolutions, and you’ll save $130 or more if you go NVIDIA.

GPU ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Trinity Black Edition

While the RX 7900 XTX is a bargain compared to an RTX 4080 or 4090, you don’t really even need that kind of power to run most games at 4K. The Radeon RX 7900 XT will do the job for a much lower price. The RX 7900 XTX is roughly comparable to the RTX 4070 Ti. For $100 more, the Zotac RTX 4070 Ti Super offers more breathing room, so you can turn the settings even higher. It’s also better at ray tracing than the RX 7900 XT.

XFX Speedster RX 7800 XT CORE GPU

When it comes to value, you can’t go wrong with either the XFX Speedster Radeon RX 7800 XT GPU or the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, which are roughly comparable to each other in terms of performance. Although the RX 7800 XT is cheaper, it actually outperforms the RTX 4070 in many games. It also has more VRAM. However, the RTX 4070 has the benefit of superior ray tracing performance and – more importantly – DLSS, giving it a nice fps boost without compromising image quality too much. Either way, both GPUs will run your games comfortably at 1440p, pushing 60fps or higher.

The best GPU for 1080p gaming

ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4060 Ti OC GPU

PowerColor Fighter AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU

For a comfortable 1080p gaming experience without breaking the bank, you should opt for a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti or Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU. The RX 7700 XT performs higher in more games and has more VRAM (12GB vs 8GB) so it scales better at 1440p and higher resolutions. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti again supports DLSS, which is even more of an advantage with a GPU at this price point where you don’t have extra power to spare. It’s also more power efficient than the RX 7700 XT. There are even cheaper options, like the RTX 4060, but the RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7900 XT is a pretty big jump in performance for a pretty small price difference, so you’re better off going with the better GPU here.
