After Sony itself accidentally revealed the Freedom’s Flame premium warbond for Helldivers 2, it has now made it official along with an August 8th release date.
The theme of Freedom’s Flame is, predictably, burn damage and survival, with new weapons, armor, emotes, capes and skins set to hit the game next week, said Mitch Eyre, junior community manager at developer Arrowhead Games Studios, in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
As with previous Premium Warbonds, expect Freedom’s Flame to cost 1000 Super Credits. While you can earn super credits from the game and the military bond itself, you can also buy them with real world money. Through the in-game store, 1000 Super Credits cost $9.99. Premium War Bonds don’t expire, so you can work your way through them at your own pace, confident that their items will remain available.

SG-451 Cooking
Burn, baby, burn! A pump shotgun that unleashes a blast of incendiary phosphorous pellets at your helpless enemies.

Causing a huge eruption, this act of incredible bravery destroyed a huge swarm of Terminids. As documented in the bestseller The Breach, it is available at all good bookstores on Super Earth.

Freedom’s Flame is set to arrive two days after the Escalation of Freedom update, the biggest yet for Helldivers 2. This update, due out on August 6th, adds new missions, objectives, enemies, planets and even a new difficulty mode.
Helldivers 2’s explosive launch for PC and PlayStation 5 in February made it the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, with a whopping 12 million copies sold in 12 weeks.
